ProMedica is laying off about 100 employees and keeping another 60 non-direct-care jobs vacant, the company announced in August.
News of the staff cuts came about one month after the Toledo-based hospital system finalized its plans to acquire skilled nursing operator HCR ManorCare, making it the 15th largest health system in the U.S.
None of the eliminated positions are at HCR, which is also based in Toledo, and many are tied to leadership or corporate functions at ProMedica’s headquarters.
