Windsor Run, an Erikson Living retirement community in Matthews, NC, broke ground on its new continuing care neighborhood Oct. 11.
The first phase of the building, called Piedmont Overlook, will offer residents assisted living, memory care and long-term care services. Residents are expected to move in by early 2021.
Lantz-Boggio Architects is the project architect, and Kaufman Lynn Construction will be the general contractor for Piedmont Overlook.
When completed, the 27,000 square feet, one-story neighborhood will feature amenities such as a restaurant, family kitchen, salon, living rooms and an enclosed courtyard, as well as a variety of modern studio and one-bedroom apartment homes.
The 60-acre Windsor Run campus celebrated its first anniversary in May and opened a new independent living building with 101 residences in the spring.
