McKnight’s Long-Term Care News was honored Monday for having the Best News Coverage for the 10th straight year. MLTCN earned five awards overall in the 2019 American Society of Healthcare Publication Editors competition, while sister publication McKnight’s Senior Living added three more.

“The McKnight’s editorial staff continually delivers just what our readers need, and how they need it. We respect that they’re busy and need clear, concise information,” praised McKnight’s Publisher Craig Roth. “It’s no accident that experts grant our editors top journalism honors like this year after year.”

In addition to top news honors, McKnight’s Long-Term Care News earned Silver Awards for Best Single Issue (June 2018) and Best New Department (“The Brighter Side”). The latter is a series of positive stories occurring in and around long-term care facilities throughout the country, written by Staff Writer Marty Stempniak.

Bronze Awards were given to the McKnight’s Annual Industry Directory in the Best Special Supplement, Annual or Buyer’s Guide category and “The World According to Dr. El,” written by Eleanor Feldman Barbera, Ph.D., in the Best Blog category.

McKnight’s Editorial Director John O’Connor won Silver in the Best Blog category for his work for sister publication McKnight’s Senior Living. That publication also earned Silver in the e-newsletter category for its Daily Briefing and Bronze in the Best News Coverage category.
