Ottawa-based DewAir Corporation has introduced the RH-Cube 18, the HVAC industry’s first split-system mechanical dehumidifier that uses a small energy-efficient counter-flow heat exchanger for dedicated humidity control.

The product reduces air conditioning energy costs up to 55% and increases indoor air quality for healthcare environments. The 18,000-BTU/hr, 600-CFM unit independently supplements any air conditioning system, the company said.

The compact size and capacity make it ideal for spaces under 12,000 square feet, such as food processing areas during wash-downs, locker rooms, healthcare hallways or other areas where excessive moisture can generate mold, mildew and other health issues.
