Stephanie Uhrmacher accepted a promotion to senior living administrator at Good Samaritan Society – Hastings Village just before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Although a lesser leader might have folded under pressure, Uhrmacher accepted the challenge head-on and instilled confidence in her colleagues at Hastings Village while navigating turbulent times for the industry.

The results so far in Uhrmacher’s tenure as administrator have been very promising. In 2021 and 2022, she was nominated by five members of her team for the organization’s Nebraska and Iowa Administrator of the Year award, which she earned in 2022.

In addition, colleagues said, she is a tireless advocate for resident safety and health. Uhrmacher was a vocal advocate for the COVID-19 vaccine, with more than 60% of the 200+ independent living residents getting vaccinated at Hastings Village’s first vaccine clinic in January 2021. In addition, she worked with a local family healthcare medical clinic to open the clinic on the Hasting Village’s campus to ensure easy access for residents.

“Stephanie represents the very best qualities of a rising leader: an avid learner who challenges the status quo and questions the traditional way of doing work,” her nominators said. “This mindset helps her work through challenges and opportunities that help improve the well-being and quality of life for residents on campus and better the Hastings community.”
