Medicare Payment Advisory Commission Executive Director Mark E. Miller, who has been at the organization since 2002, is leaving at the end of November.

He will become the new vice president of healthcare at the Laura and John Arnold Foundation, Bloomberg BNA reported Thursday.

James Mathews, the current deputy director, will replace Miller, which will likely provide continuity, experts said.

Miller was only the second MedPAC executive director, replacing Murray N. Ross, Ph.D., who is now a Kaiser Foundation vice president and director of the Kaiser Permanente Institute for Health Policy.
