McKnight’s Long-Term Care News earned a Grand Award and three Awards of Excellence at the 28th annual Awards for Publication Excellence contest.

McKnight’s Industry Directory was given the Grand Award in the category “Print Media,” which marks the sixth time the publication has been bestowed the competition’s highest-level honor. The editorial staff also was recognized for excellence in the categories “Magazines, Journals and Tabloids – Print above 32 pages” and “Website – Most Improved.”

Staff writer Emily Mongan earned a personal Award of Excellence for Social Media. Her submission, “The curious case of the disappearing CNA,” won under the category of “Best Single Blog Post.”

The staff of sister brand McKnight’s Senior Living earned Awards of Excellence in “Website – New” and  “Newsletter – Writing.” Senior Editor Lois A. Bowers secured an additional award for the brand in “News Writing.”

“This was a special year for McKnight’s. We are gratified by the recognition of the hard work, both online and in print, and in categories as diverse as blog writing, newsletters and industry directories,” said McKnight’s Editorial Director John O’Connor. “The debut of our new mcknightsseniorliving.com website has been especially successful.”

Combined, McKnight’s Long-Term Care News and McKnight’s Senior Living now have earned more than 40 APEX awards.
