A new market analysis conducted by Infiniti Research finds healthcare continues to drive the development of wearable devices, though some potential users remain wary of security issues.

Digitization in the healthcare market has resulted in major innovations in the wearable healthcare technology segment, according to Infiniti. The global research firm conducted the study on behalf of a client with $24 billion in healthcare related revenues.

“The use of wearables in the healthcare industry has evolved over the years from being used as fitness devices to health monitoring systems that are capable of detecting medical conditions,” Infiniti reported. “Wearable healthcare technology has now become a fundamental part of healthcare. … Factors such as these have further leveraged their use and popularity among the global population.”
