The Right Place’s SaaS admissions offering for skilled nursing facilities has made director Christine Cooke’s life much easier.

As part of a pilot program, Marian Manor in South Boston began using the system two years ago. It became commercially available in November and includes a digital bed board available as an iPad app.

“Anything we can do as a skilled nursing facility to speed up the information to and from the hospital for the bed helps,” she says. Right Place can tell her immediately if there’s an empty bed or hospital referral.

It’s not uncommon for the manor’s short-term 27-bed rehab unit to have eight to 10 beds turning over each day.

“[What] we like the most is that the bed board is live. The piece the liaison loves is the insurance piece: Now he can do soup to nuts by himself — he can run Medicare through an application and can make the bed offer 100% on the spot.”
