Nursing facility leaders are gathering this morning on the web to hash out issues concerning two of the field’s most pressing concerns — wound care and seeking capital funding sources.

They’re doing so as part of the McKnight’s Online Expo, which will kick off its second and final day at 10:30 a.m. Eastern Time. An hour after the exhibit hall doors open, Rutgers School of Nursing expert Kevin Emmons, RN, will discuss the latest in treatment advancements. Attendees at his one-hour session, “Understanding wounds at end-of-life: We all have skin in the game,” which starts at 11:30 a.m. ET, can earn a free continuing education credit in the process.

The 13th annual iteration of the long-term care industry’s only virtual trade show will then wrap up with the last session starting at at 1 p.m. Thursday: “Finding capital in 2019,” presented by the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care’s Beth Burnham Mace. During the expo’s final hour, the NIC’s chief economist will examine 2019’s economic conditions, and how they may shape operators’ attempts to obtain capital during the “turbulent” year ahead.

Attendees also can mingle with peers and representatives of top vendors at the expo’s virtual exhibit hall. Registration will be ongoing through the event, and interested parties may register and observe the webinars for up to a year afterward. CE credits, however, may be earned only by individuals tuning in for the live broadcast.
