Pentec Health Inc. has announced that local anesthesia drugs, Bupivacaine and Ropivacaine, are now available for order via the company’s syringe-based configuration, Dilute-N-Go®.

Its syringes must be diluted prior to administration. Options for configuring to order are:

  • Bupivacaine HCl 31.25 mg/mL – 4 mL (125 mg) in a 10 mL Syringe
  • Bupivacaine HCl 31.25 mg/mL – 8 mL (250 mg) in a 10 mL Syringe
  • Bupivacaine HCl 31.25 mg/mL – 10 mL (312.5 mg) in a 10 mL Syringe
  • Ropivacaine HCl 33.4 mg/mL – 3 mL (100 mg) in a 10 mL Syringe
  • Ropivacaine HCl 33.4 mg/mL – 6 mL (200 mg) in a 10 mL Syringe
  • Ropivacaine HCl 33.4 mg/mL – 7.5 mL (250 mg) in a 10 mL Syringe

The goal is to help providers facing drug shortages. Each Dilute-N-Go syringe has multiple safety measures in place to avoid confusion with Ready-To-Administer products, including a “Must Be Diluted” warning on the seal placed over a tamper-evident cap with multiple additional warnings on the product label, box label, and the associated “Recommendations For Use” pamphlet included within every carton of product, the company said.

Dilute-N-Go inventory should be kept apart from general stock, the company advised.
