» LifeShare Technologies released LifeShare Family, a mobile app connecting seniors with their families and caregivers. LifeShare Family allows seniors and families to share mobile pictures and send messages, as well as see menus and activities and for family members to set appointments. The app is available through Google Play and the Apple App store.

» Invacare Corporation’s founder, A. Malachi Mixon III, is retiring as the executive chairman of the company’s board of directors, effective Dec. 21. Mixon, 74, will continue to be a non-employee member of the board until he reaches the board’s mandatory retirement age this year.

» The studioSIX5 Collection has released its third line of furniture and flooring for senior living facilities. An outdoor line was introduced this year, with options that included patio furniture. There are plans to add a three-seat sofa, storage chest and further table options to the line. 

» Optimus EMR Inc. announced in November it had made a transition with its pharmacy partners from HL7 to NCPDP Script 10.6 interfaces.  

» Welch Allyn, Inc. acquired a private investment firm, Prairie Ventures, and all of the assets of its telehealth company, HealthInterlink. The acquisition will allow Welch Allyn to give U.S. customers the mHealth solution, president and CEO Stephen Meyer said.

» Briggs Healthcare is partnering with Infection Control Consulting Services. ICCS helps healthcare facilities with customized written infection prevention programs, policy, procedure review and risk assessments. 

» Legend Senior Living announced a partnership with Redilearning Corporation. Under the agreement, Legend Senior Living employees will use Redilearning’s Blended Services approach, and will be working with Redilearning’s Client Services team to move strategic initiatives forward, the companies said.
