Health Connexions has teamed with Veteran Smartcare LLC, an SDVOSB (Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business) start-up based in Orlando, FL, to help veterans with diabetes healthcare through better nutrition.
Health Connexions will consult with Veteran Smartcare with tools to conduct the market research and develop communication, education and training programs. Several initial products are being evaluated by Veteran Smartcare, such as a frozen food meal plan that will help veterans manage their weight and ward off type 2 diabetes.
Veteran Smartcare also is evaluating an early-detection smart mat with embedded sensors to evaluates the left and right plantar foot blood temperature. That would reflect reduced lower limb blood flow.
