The Making of the Ideal Physician” is a new guidebook designed to help physicians and patients improve the quality of individual healthcare by rethinking expectations and promoting empathy.

Mayo Clinic-affiliated Authors Edward C. Rosenow III, M.D.; J. Keith Mansel, M.D.; and Walter R. Wilson, M.D., have more than 100 years of experience in medicine and medical education. They approached the book as a tool to help the medical community better navigate patient interactions throughout their careers.

“We wrote this book to help reverse the loss of trust the public has in their healthcare providers,” Rosenow said. “The truth is that all patients deserve the best possible care.”
