On the heels of Wednesday’s House vote to repeal Obamacare, three Republican congressmen plan tointroduce legislation Thursday that would replace the president’s signature healthcare law. 

The repeal bill passed Wednesday 239-186; only three Republicans (all freshmen) opposed the measureand no Democrats voted in favor. President Obama has repeatedly vowed to veto any legislation thatwould nullify the Affordable Care Act. Wednesday’s vote was the 67th time House lawmakers have voted torepeal or modify the law. It isn’t known when the Senate will take up the measure. 

Republicans House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton, SenateFinance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch of Utah and Sen. Richard Burr of North Carolina said they would introducea replacement healthcare law, Thursday.

Republicans vowed to dismantle the legislation after the November 2014 elections thatsaw the party gain firm control over both houses of Congress. Capitol Hill observers say the only chancelawmakers will have to dispense of the ACA is to offer Americans a different plan.
