Pending board approval of both organizations, Mercy Hospital St. Louis was preparing to transfer the ownership of 120 skilled nursing beds on its campus to Lutheran Senior Services.
About 200 Mercy employees would become LSS employees. Census at Mercy Skilled Nursing Center was around 90 at press time.
LSS would lease the skilled nursing facility and construct a new facility within three year at an undetermined site, according to the agreement.
LSS operates facilities in 19 locations in Missouri and Illinois.
