McKnight’s Long-Term Care News is a finalist for three national awards in the 2020 Azbee Awards of Excellence competition.

The national finalists are for the following: Best Web News Section (mcknights.com), Best Original Web Commentary (Executive Editor James M. Berklan) and Best Humor submission (“Things I Think” columnist Gary Tetz).

McKnights LTC News also is a finalist for eight Regional Awards, five in addition to the three listed above. The American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) sponsors the annual Azbee competition, which recognizes top print, digital and online journalistic efforts.

The regional finalists are: Best Editor’s Letter (Editorial Director John O’Connor), Best News Analysis (for the “Mood of the Market” survey package), Best Q&A (the “Executive Decisions” installment on I-SNP pioneer Steve Fogg), Best News Section (Print), and Best Online Single Topic Coverage By a Team (on the federal government’s “abuse” icon, by Staff Writer Danielle Brown and Berklan).

McKnight’s Long-Term Care News’ sister publication, McKnight’s Senior Living, also is a national finalist for Best Web News Section, and is a finalist for five regional finalists overall.

Specific placings of each award (Gold, Silver, Bronze or other) will be announced later this spring. ASBPE will hold its national awards ceremony May 7 in Chicago. Regional awards will be announced and handed out in April at events around the country.
