Four long-term care organizations – representing different professions in the field – have teamed up to create a new coalition, the Long Term Care Professional Leadership Council.

The Council will focus on collaborating to identify and promote comprehensive approaches to defining and meeting quality standards for facilities and residents. The coalition consists of the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA), the American Medical Directors Association (AMDA), the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) and the National Association Directors of Nursing Administration/Long Term Care (NADONA).

Among the Council’s goals: advancing consistent standards, positions and recommendations pertaining to long-term care; promoting evidence-based cross-disciplinary protocols for care and operational issues; and overcoming political, social and economic obstacles to coordinated, consistent care.
