Commissioners in Butler County, OH, have hired Chamika Poole, RN, as administrator for their cash-strapped public nursing home.
Poole was slated to start Sept. 23 at annual salary of $89,833.
Poole has a Master of Science in health administration from Central Michigan University and a bachelor’s in biology from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro.
She was most recently an RN unit manager responsible for staff development at Village at the Greene in Dayton, OH. Prior to that, she served as a nursing home administrator for Pristine Senior Living, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Butler County Care Facility has struggled financially for years. Two years ago, the facility needed a $425,000 subsidy, and in 2016, commissioners loaned it $225,000 for payroll.
Poole replaces former administrator Jennifer Strickland, who left in May. An interim operator, Professional Review Network Inc., will remain in place through November as Poole transitions, the Journal-News reported.
