A new book focuses on how nurses can be inspired to overcome adversity.

“Like Crabs in a Barrel: A Nurse’s Testimony on Overcoming Adversity,” by director of nursing Velma J. Haye, DNP, MA, RN-BC, LNHA,  focuses on how “Adversity can be a show stopper that negatively impacts one’s outlook on life and self-confidence.”

The book, published by Christian Faith Publishing, provides guidance on how to handle adversity in the workplace, community or home.

“Body language speaks loudly, and you must listen to it,” Hayes said. “God through His words helps us to identify and respond to adversity as well as teaches us how to avoid partaking in creating adversity.”
