Livongo Health said that its Diabetes Prevention Program has received full recognition from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The accolade means the program has met CDC standards and can deliver a Type 2 Diabetes prevention lifestyle change program, the company said.

“CDC recognition validates the effectiveness of Livongo’s Diabetes Prevention Program and complements our success in diabetes management,” said Glen Tullman, CEO of Livongo. “Diabetes represents one of the fastest growing public health challenges facing our country today. Our goal is to partner with our members to prevent diabetes and where we can’t, provide world-class programs to make it easier for our members with diabetes to stay healthy until a cure is discovered.”

The program gives users at risk for Type 2 Diabetes an expert-led and technology-driven lifestyle change program. The yearlong personalized program combines live or recorded classes with a suite of digital tools for self-monitoring (mobile app, online dashboard, digital scale and activity tracker) and an expert coach.
