Eighty percent of home care, assisted living and nursing home caregivers said they preferred to work for one company if they can get the hours they want, which is often easier in a restaurant or retail environment.

A new myCNAjobs.com report, “The Caregiver Trend Report: Get Competitive,” is geared toward executives trying to understand caregiver psyche. In addition to breaking down state-level wage and ZIP-code level wage data, the report asked caregivers questions about their preferences.

More than two-thirds of caregivers, for example, said they would choose a 401(k) program over paid vacation time, and 83% said they work with memory loss patients — but only 65% of those have formal memory loss training.
