A long-term care facility operator is urging people to contribute to recovery efforts in Mississippi where Hurricane Katrina has seriously affected five of his 10 retirement campuses.

There are “safety and evacuation issues as well as varying degrees of damage” at the campuses, according to Steve McAlilly, president and CEO of Mississippi Methodist Senior Services.  McAlilly owns traditional nursing homes and Green Houses, a housing concept that focuses on creating homelike and empowered environments for seniors.

Donations to help victims are tax deductible and can be mailed to Mississippi Methodist Senior Services Inc. marked “Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund.” Donations can be sent to: P. O. Box 1567, 109 South Broadway Street, Tupelo, MS  38802-1567.
