The Life Care Center of Casper in Wyoming has said it would convert 23 beds in a special care unit into standard nursing home unit, effective last Thursday.
The decision was announced in August. In the letter, obtained by the Casper Star-Tribune, executives said that there was a need for unsecured long-term care beds. Two other nursing homes in the area have units safe for dementia patients, but one told the newspaper it is almost always full.
