The global telemedicine market will hit about $113.1 billion by 2025, according to a new report.

Drivers include demand for self-care and a rise in chronic conditions,  Grand View Research Inc. found. Providers also hope to reduce emergency room visits and hospitalizations.

Connectivity and networking should be the fastest growing product segment, report authors said.

Important players in the market were listed as IBM, Intel Corporation, Philips Healthcare, McKesson Corporation, AMD Telemedicine, GE Healthcare and Cardio Net Inc.
