The National Association Directors of Nursing Administration in Long-Term Care (NADONA/LTC) announced the release of a Infection Prevention and Control certification program specific for extended care healthcare professionals.

The exam will be offered year round; the program launched Tuesday. It was developed by subject matter experts and been beta tested for NADONA members over the past year.

Upon completion, professionals can use the credentials “IP-BC™” representing Infection Preventionist-Board Certified.”

“NADONA members have long asked for an infection prevention and control certification that was specific to their practice environment,” said NADONA President Robin Arnicar, RN, CADDCT, CDP, CDONA, FADONA. “This new certification will prepare our members to reduce the incidence of preventable Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs).”
