Webinar focuses on suicide prevention and older adults

The National Council on Aging is hosting a special webinar next Thursday (Sept. 17) focusing on suicide among older adults. Three expert speakers will discuss risk factors and successful strategies for preventing suicide, and a recently developed toolkit for senior centers. The event starts at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time.

Presenters will be Kimberly Van Orden, of the University of Rochester Medical Center; Rosalyn Blogier, of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA); and Christine Miara, director of operations and resources for the Suicide Prevention Resource Center.
