A federal agency has determined that a New Mexico facility overcharged Medicaid more than $518,000. The Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General said it found red flags in Albuquerque Manor’s Medicaid cost report for the fiscal year ended Dec. 31, 2000.
The OIG report said the facility overstated costs by $518,492. The agency said the suspect charges were not related to patient care and said the facility failed to establish proper policies, procedures and controls.
The facility disputed the OIG’s findings and “was not responsive to the conditions in our report,” according to the agency.
