The Ambio Remote Health Monitoring System received Class II FDA Clearance 510(K), Ambio Health announced.
The product offers home health readings that can be automatically logged and view by family members and caregivers. Users can set individualized alert levels and reminders for readings. It starts at $49.97 for the single device, and users pay an annual subscription of around $5 a month. Additional devices that can be added include a blood pressure meter and a weight scale.
The company showcased the product, which can track health information for those with high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes, at the 2013 American Association of Diabetes Educators Annual Meeting. The meeting was held August 7-10 in Philadelphia.
