Infection control experts have developed a disinfection method that could revolutionize the way healthcare facilities prevent healthcare-acquired infections.
Developed by researchers at Canada’s Queen’s University and Medizone International, the method pumps an ozone and hydrogen peroxide vapor gas mixture into a room, sterilizing all surfaces. Developers say the method’s biggest implication is preventing infectious disease in healthcare settings, and is more effective than wiping down rooms.
A study on the method was published in the American Journal of Infection Control.
