Quality Indicator Survey inspectors are beginning to use new software that works with personal tablet computers, according to a new Government Accountability Office report. The software makes sure inspectors follow the proper inspection process, ask correct questions, consider quality standards and record observations. The new QIS software also allows surveyors to draw larger resident samples for follow-up questions, officials say.
