Approximately 91% of assisted living facilities measure resident and family satisfaction, according to a new report from the National Center for Assisted Living. Researchers conducted the study to look for statistical evidence whether the quality of life for individuals who live in assisted living facilities is improving.
The survey asked NCAL members how they rate family and resident satisfaction at their facility. Members were asked if they measured this through “their own view,” “a different outside organization,” an “internal satisfaction survey,” or “not currently measured.”
The report also found that 98% of NCAL facilities conducted criminal background checks for new employees in 2010, regardless or the size of the community or region.
Additionally, the survey reported that 94% of the facilities surveyed had a licensed nurse available to staff and residents 24 hours per day.
