The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Tuesday will host a conference call on the Resource Utilization Group-Version 4 (RUG-IV) and the interim payment system this year for skilled nursing facilities.
The call will review payment issues as they relate to the transition from the RUG-III to RUG-IV case-mix classification systemd. CMS plans to implement RUG-IV on Oct. 1 as it develops a RUG-III hybrid system. (McKnight’s, 5/26/10) RUG-IV is set to take effect in October 2011 unless Congress passes a bill to repeal the delay of RUG-IV to this October.
CMS will provide a power point presentation, available on the CMS website before the conference call, so callers can follow along with the presentation. The call will take place from 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. EDT. There will be a question-and-answer session after the presentation.
