The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society continues to top the list of the largest not-for-profit senior living sites in the United States. That is according to the “2009 AAHSA Ziegler 100,” a report released by the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging and Ziegler Senior Living Finance.

Evangelical leads the group with 19,684 units, a slight decrease from last year’s 19,714 units. Another notable provider was Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services, which had the most nursing care beds-751 out of that facility’s 2,757 total number of units.

The top 10 largest providers constitute roughly 37% of all the units represented on the top 100 list, according to this year’s report. Nearly 80% of the facilities on the list now offer designated memory support units.
