McKnight’s Long-Term Care News received four editorial awards in this year’s APEX Awards for Publication Excellence competition. That brings the number of APEX distinctions to 10 in the last three years.

The McKnight’s staff garnered the “Award of Excellence” in the categories of Web Site and Magazine/Journal (Print Over 32 Pages). Also, Associate Editor Liza Berger took an “Award of Excellence” for her August 2008 feature, “Give ’em a hand.” This story highlighted the work of the laundry department and housekeeping staff members at long-term care facilities. Editor James M. Berklan was honored for his regular column, “The Editor’s Desk.”

APEX Awards are based on “excellence in graphic design, editorial content and the success of the entry in achieving overall communications effectiveness and excellence,” according to organizers.
