Becky Bodie began her career in occupational therapy, but her dedication to excellence drove her to pursue higher education while working. Her leadership skills proved invaluable as she rose through the ranks of the healthcare sector. A winding career climb spanning five decades has culminated in her current position as executive vice president and chief operating officer at skilled nursing and senior living provider Diversicare.

Bodie assumed her latest position in March 2020, just as the dangers and challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic were beginning to reveal themselves. Despite the struggles ahead for providers, Bodie’s undaunted leadership, keen eye for risk assessment and ability to proactively pursue solutions made an immediate difference at Diversicare, according to colleagues.

“One of Becky’s most notable qualities has been her ability to navigate challenges with poise and determination,” her nominator said. “In the face of adversity, she has consistently demonstrated a remarkable capacity to lead from the front, fostering a culture of collaboration and empowerment among her peers. Her initiatives not only have enhanced our workplace environment but have also translated into tangible successes for the entire company.”

Those tangible successes included a systematic streamlining of the company’s operational processes, which helped Diversicare’s efficiency reach “unprecedented levels,” according to her nominator. Beyond efficiency, though, Bodie also has worked tirelessly to increase equity and inclusion in the workplace and create a collaborative environment that facilitates open communication.
