Jennifer Bartscht’s career has spanned the healthcare sector — from tiny nonprofits to large chains, from needs-based care to independent living, and from a start in skilled nursing activities to her current achievements in sales and marketing.

That part of her career began in 2001 in Ann Arbor, MI. In the following years, she worked her way up from being a sales consultant to being regional director of sales for four senior living communities in the region. Today, she is vice president of sales and marketing for the former Baptist Retirement Homes of North Carolina, now known as ThriveMore.

Bartscht’s dedication and inventive strategies had an immediate effect on her new communities, even as the country struggled through the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to her colleagues, the operator historically had seen occupancy rates of approximately 60%, even before the pandemic. Under Bartscht’s leadership, its occupancy has soared to an overall level of 92%.

“Jen does an amazing job of leading by example. She is the first one to arrive to set up for a marketing event for a community and the last one to leave,” her nominator told McKnight’s. “She has led our efforts to do market studies for new and existing markets. Jen has been an integral part of the executive leadership team.”
