David Erickson was appointed as Covenant Living Communities and Services’s new president and CEO in June following Terri Cunliffe’s retirement from the position.

Erickson began his time at Covenant Living in 2008, most recently holding the position of senior vice president and general counsel. His previous experience in the senior living industry includes partnership at a law firm specializing in senior living communities and other commercial real estate.

“I’m humbled and excited to be in my new role with a vision of maintaining exceptional services for our residents and a focus on the employee experience,” Erickson said.

Based in Skokie, Illinois, Covenant Living is a non-profit faith-based senior living organization with 18 communities in ten states, serving nearly 6,000 residents. The organization is among the top 10 nonprofit senior living providers in the country.

Janet Creaney, a board chair at Covenant Living, said they searched nationally for Cunliffe’s successor but ultimately chose Erickson for his “passion for Covenant Living’s mission, exceptional leadership, strategic vision and a deep understanding of the organization’s operations and culture.”

According to his LinkedIn profile, Erickson received a bachelor’s degree in business from Bethel University in Minnesota and went on to the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Chicago-Kent College of Law to receive his law degree.
