It’s been nearly two years since residents at PruittHealth – Lilburn, an 152-bed nursing home in Lilburn, GA, have been able to enjoy an outing outside of the facility.

That all changed recently after residents and staff were invited to spend a day at the Atlanta Botanical Garden to see the “Garden Lights, Holiday Nights,” an annual holiday light show, this past December. The trip did not disappoint.

“It’s the first time I’ve been here, and I would definitely come back,” resident Peggy Eli said with a big smile on her face. “[The lights] were beautiful, and I enjoyed it.”

After close to two years since residents had been off campus, Administrator Jazmine Valle thought it would be a “really cool” present for residents to see the lights.

The Atlanta Botanical Garden donated tickets to the facility as a holiday treat for residents to enjoy.

Video of the event shows bright-eyed residents walking through and gazing at the light show, which was on display through mid-January. Many residents dressed in holiday gear.

“To say everyone enjoyed [the outing] would be an understatement,” PruittHealth — Lilburn said in a social media post.

We can’t wait for the next outing.
