Workforce management technology firm Quinyx has acquired Widget Brain, a company leveraging artificial intelligence to automate and optimize workforce scheduling.

Quinyx said the acquisition will enhance its offerings by allowing software clients to automate labor optimization through Widget Brain’s AI driven technology. The paired technology is intended to increase business performance, labor law compliance and safety, while reducing overall spending on labor.

“After several years of partnering with Widget Brain, we saw the benefits of a deeper integration of the company’s disruptive and forefront technology with our own software solutions,” said Erik Fjellborg, Quinyx’s CEO and founder.

Widget Brain’s technology allows employers to create schedules that suit employees’ preferences, resulting in higher retention and engagement.

“We built an awesome piece of AI that helps our customers make better employee schedules,” said Joachim Arts, Widget Brain’s CEO. “It’s really taking automation in operational decision-making to the next level.”

The acquisition brings new brands such as Facilicom and Royal Vopak to the existing Quinyx portfolio, already serving more than 850 companies around the world.
